Date new versions published                                                          January 2010

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.

Reason for the revision

This revision was prompted by a request from the Pulp and Paper Sector Operating Committee that the elective options in the lower level qualifications be broadened to allow candidates to undertake foundation skills standards that had been designed to fit their industries.

The Sector Operating Committee also wanted an increased emphasis on tissue converting skills in their Level 4 qualification and felt that Unit 21533, Develop quick changeover procedures in a competitive manufacturing organisation, could be picked up as part of Elective C.

Main changes resulting from the revision

The domain Wood Manufacturing Foundation Skills was added to Elective List B in the National Certificate in Wood Manufacturing - Generic Skills (Tissue Converting) (Level 2) [Ref: 650] and the National Certificate in Wood Manufacturing - Generic Skills (Tissue Converting) (Level 3) [Ref: 651].

Standard 21533 is no longer listed in Elective List A of the National Certificate in Wood Manufacturing - Generic Skills (Tissue Converting) (Level 4) [Ref: 652].
