The Communications and Media Industry Training Organisation (CMITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation process
These unit standards were reviewed because they had reached their planned review date.
Consultation meetings were held between industry representatives from the Reel-Fed and Sheet-Fed printing sectors and members of CMITO to discuss the changes required to the unit standards and qualifications.
At these meetings, the attendees considered:
· The currency of the unit standards.
· The accuracy and appropriateness of the content of the unit standards.
· How the levels and credit values correspond to the outcomes of the unit standards.
· Any gaps in skills and/or knowledge that could be filled by the development of new unit standards.
It was established that the unit standards in the Printing - Reel-Fed domain required considerable change and it was agreed that, where practical, unit standards that covered each of the Reel-fed processes should be combined and replaced with single unit standards that covered all processes.
The unit standards in the Printing - Sheet-Fed domain were considered and some unit standards were combined and replaced with new unit standards that better suit changes in industry requirements.
Unit standards 366, 368, 370, and 372 were designated expiring because they are no longer required by industry. These unit standards are included in the National Certificate in Printing (Printing - Sheet-fed: Letterpress) (Level 3) [Ref: 0040] which is under review.
Unit standards 3710 and 3712 were also designated expiring because they are no longer required by industry. These unit standards are included in the National Certificate in Printing (Printing - Sheet-fed: Small Offset) (Level 3) [Ref: 0042] which is under review.
Main changes resulting from the review
Printing - Reel-fed domain
· Unit standard 26310 replaced unit standards 2258 and 2259.
· Unit standard 26311 replaced unit standards 2262 and 2263.
· Unit standard 26312 replaced unit standards 2272, 16514, 16515, 16516, and 16517.
· Unit standard 26313 replaced unit standards 2279, 16518, 16519, 16520 and 16521.
· Unit standard 26314 replaced unit standards 16523 and 16524.
· Unit standard 26315 replaced unit standard 20667.
· The credit value of unit standard 16522 increased from 2 to 3.
· Unit standard 2257 was replaced with new unit standard 26317 which is registered under the Printing Production domain.
· The title of unit standard 16526 was updated and the level and credit value increased to level 3, 5 credits.
· New unit standard 26316 was created.
· Unit standard 16525 was designated expiring because it is no longer required by industry.
Printing - Sheet-fed domain
· Unit standards 26318 and 26319 replaced unit standards 3710, 3711, 3712, 3713, and 3714.
· Unit standard 26320 replaced unit standards 3715 and 3716.
· Unit standard 26321 replaced unit standard 20424.
· The title of unit standard 10920 was updated.
· The title of unit standard 16509 was updated and the level and credit value increased to level 3, 5 credits.
· New unit standard 26322 was created.
· Unit standards 354, 366, 368, 370, 372, 3717, and 3718 were designated expiring because they are no longer required by industry.
Unit standards categorised as category C or D expire at the end of December 2015.
