Summary of review and consultation process

Advisory Group meetings were held on 8 April 2009 and 2 June 2009 to discuss the standards in the Glazing and Glass Processing qualifications, respectively.  This group included industry and provider representatives.  The standards specific to each qualification were discussed to decide whether they were still fit for purpose and how this would affect the qualifications' structure.  Amendments were made to the qualifications which were endorsed by the Advisory Group in July 2009.

An Advisory Group meeting was held in May 2009 to discuss the needs of the decorative glass sector.  This group included industry and provider representatives.  The needs of this sector were different from the glazing and glass processing sectors and new standards and a qualification were developed to fit this sector's requirements.  The standards and qualification were endorsed by the Advisory Group in July 2009.

·      The optional strand has been removed from the Glass Processing qualification.
