Summary
The standards in these domains where last reviewed in 2004 and have now been reviewed to ensure continuing fitness for purpose. Feedback was invited from providers, assessors, moderators, and companies in the industry. Suggested changes to standards were relatively minor, and the opportunity was taken to generally improve the quality of the standards. Meetings involving Competenz and industry representatives considered the feedback and endorsed the changes in August 2009.
Main changes
· Amendments to elements and performance criteria to improve clarity and consistency.
· Purpose statements amended to accommodate changes to the elements.
· Special notes updated to better convey assessment parameters, including clearer definitions, updated references to legislation, and clarification of the breath and depth of evidence required to demonstrate competence.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2012
