Revision of Electricity Supply qualification
National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Cable Jointer - Low Voltage) (Level 3) [Ref: 0869]
The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) has revised the qualification above.
Date new version published May 2010
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.
Reason for the revision
This qualification was revised to better align it with the competencies required for registration as a cable jointer, thus improving qualification completion rates.
Main changes resulting from the revision
A standard not required for registration as a cable jointer was removed from the Compulsory section of the qualification and made optional.
Changes to structure and content
· The total credit value decreased from 78 to 77.
· Standard 20877 was removed from the Compulsory section but was included as an optional standard.
Transition
All existing candidates may either complete the version of the qualification in which they are enrolled or transfer their existing achievements to version 5. All new trainees will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 5 of the qualification.
The last date for assessment for version 4 of this qualification is December 2012.
This qualification contains a standard that replaced an earlier standard. For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard - see table below.
