Revision of Freight Forwarding qualifications

 

National Certificate in Freight Forwarding (Freight Administration) [Ref: 1243]

 

National Certificate in Freight Forwarding (International Freight Forwarding) [Ref: 1244]

 

Tranzqual ITO has revised the qualifications listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          May 2010

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2010.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The qualifications have been updated to:

·         remove a barrier to completion in the National Certificate in Freight Forwarding (Freight Administration) [Ref: 1243]

·         maintain currency due to standard 17497 expiring and standard 18235 being replaced by standard 25508

·         account for changes to classification, titles, levels, and credits of reviewed standards.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

National Certificate in Freight Forwarding (Freight Administration) [Ref: 1243]

 

Changes to structure and content

·         Qualification credit total reduced from 80 to 69.

·         Compulsory total decreased from 73 to 69.

·         Standard 17497 removed from the compulsory set.

·         Elective set changed to an optional set.

·         Titles of standards 9705 and 11963 updated.

 

Transition

 

People currently working towards version 1 may either complete its requirements or transfer to version 2.

 

National Certificate in Freight Forwarding (International Freight Forwarding) [Ref: 1244]

 

Changes to structure and content

·         Standard 18235 removed from the compulsory set and replaced with standard 25508.

·         Elective section restructured to allow the balance of credits to come from Elective 1 or Elective 2.

·         Titles of standards 9696 and 11995 updated.

·         Standard 11101 title updated and credit value increased from 3 to 4.

·         Standard 17591 credit value reduced from 5 to 4.

·         Standard 11905 level reduced from 4 to 3.

 

Transition

 

People currently working towards version 1 may either complete its requirements or transfer to version 2.

 

For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the following expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard.
