Revision of Sports Turf qualification

National Certificate in Sports Turf Management (Level 4) [Ref: 0203]

The New Zealand Sports Turf Industry Training Organisation (NZSTITO) has revised the qualification listed above.

Date new versions published                                                          May 2010

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2015.

Reason for the revision

The revision was carried out because the development of the new NZSTITO qualification, the National Certificate in Sports Turf (Level 5) [Ref: 1558], impacted on this qualification.

Changes were required to clarify: the roles for supervisory tradespersons in sports turf management (the target group); possible NQF qualification pathways; and the relationships with the National Certificate in Sports Turf (Level 5) [Ref: 1558] and the National Diploma in Sports Turf Management (Level 6) [Ref: 1272].

Candidates who complete this qualification now have the capability of progressing to the National Certificate in Sports Turf (Level 5) [Ref: 1558] (a smaller, more achievable package of learning) before progressing on to the National Diploma in Sports Turf Management (Level 6) [Ref: 1272] (currently under review).

Changes were also required to update details for standards from National Qualification Services (NZQA), and to meet current technical criteria.
