Summary
This unit standard was overdue for review. During the review of other Ambulance unit standards in 2009, it was identified that this unit standard had no usage and it was therefore considered no longer fit for purpose.
Consultation was carried out with the industry including members of Ambulance New Zealand, accredited providers, and national external moderators which confirmed that this standard was no longer required. This was endorsed by Ambulance New Zealand.
Accredited providers were notified that this unit standard would expire at the end of December 2012.

Category D unit standard will expire at the end of December 2012
Impact on existing accreditations
Accredited providers can assess against the standard up until December 2012. No new applications for accreditation will be accepted.
There are no impacts on: existing accreditations, the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) or on any qualifications.
