Revision of Whakairo unit standards

NZQA Māori Qualifications Services has revised the unit standards listed above.

Reason for the revision

 

The Whakairo unit standards were revised to incorporate changes made to AMAP 0082 during its review.  The accreditation requirements for levels 1-4 were changed from 'Evaluation of documentation by NZQA' to 'Evaluation of documentation by NZQA and industry'.  The accreditation requirements for levels 5-8 were changed from 'Evaluation of documentation and visit by NZQA, industry and teaching professional in the same field from another provider' to 'Evaluation of documentation and visit by NZQA and industry'.

 

As the standards were being republished, the opportunity was taken to address errors inadvertently overlooked at review in December 2008.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

·         Accreditation information was updated.

·         Unit standard titles in entry information were updated.

·         References in standard 2572 were updated to reflect correct publishers and the availability of more recent editions.

·         References to legislation and special notes were corrected.

·         Titles of unit standards 2571 and 2782 were changed - see below.

·         Minor edits were made to some standards to ensure that purpose statements and elements reflect the context within the title of the standard.  These amendments did not affect content or assessment parameters.
