Summary

 

In July 2010 Careerforce invited ten representatives from the disability sector to form a sector panel to evaluate the standards within the domain Practical and Professional Skills for Disability Support that were due for review.  At the subsequent sector panel meeting held on 18 August 2010, the unit standards listed above were identified by a panel of sector specialists as being useful components of qualifications for the aged support, health and disability sector.  The panel reviewed the unit standards and made modifications to reflect current practice and confirm them as fit for purpose.

 

Main changes

 

·      The titles have been updated to reflect the changes made in each unit standard.

·      References and terminology have been updated.

·      The classification of each standard has changed.

·      Evidence requirements and range statements have been modified to better reflect current sector requirements.

·      The credits in unit standard 18684 have increased from 8 to 10 to reflect added evidence requirements.
