Summary

 

Unit standard 16718 is closely aligned to the Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods 2005 (the Rule).  In 2010, the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) issued the Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods Amendment 2010.  Following this amendment an Industry Advisory Group (which included a representative from NZTA) was convened to update this unit standard to ensure consistency with the amendment.  This group also updated the unit standard to ensure consistency with industry requirements.

 

Main changes

 

·      Outcome statements, evidence requirements, and range statements were updated for consistency with the Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods Amendment 2010.

·      The title was updated to better reflect the skills and knowledge specified in the unit standard.

·      Explanatory notes were updated.

·      References to Land Transport New Zealand were updated to refer to the New Zealand Transport Agency.
