The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
All of these unit standards, except for unit standard 16689, have had 'nil' usage since 2006. As a result the decision was made as part of this planned review to designate as expiring those unit standards with 'nil' usage. The Extractives Industry Advisory Group and the Metalliferous Industry Advisory Group both endorsed this decision.
Key stakeholders were also consulted and provided input into the review of unit standard 16689.
Main changes
· Unit standards 7166, 7167, 12628-12631, 16691-16693 were designated expiring and will not be replaced (category D).
· Explanatory notes, outcome wording, and ranges of unit standard 16689 were updated.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2010
