Revision of Electronics Technology qualification

 

National Certificate in Electronics Technology (Level 2) [Ref: 0240]

 

The ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (ETITO) has revised the qualification listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          October 2010

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.

 

Reason for the revision

 

This qualification was revised to increase flexibility and bring the elective section into line with the elective section of the National Certificate in Electronic Technology (Level 3) [Ref: 1005].

 

National Certificate in Electronics Technology (Level 2) [Ref: 0240]

 

Changes to structure and content

·           The elective section was changed to include Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering subfields.

·           The purpose statement was amended to clarify that a combination of both unit standards and/or achievement standards may be used to meet the credit requirements of the elective section of the qualification.

·           Reference to the National Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Level 2) [Ref: 1092] was removed.

 

Transition

 

There are no transition implications.  All new candidates will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 6 of the qualification.

 

The last date for assessment for version 5 of this qualification is 31 December 2013.

 

It is not intended that anyone be disadvantaged by the above arrangements.  However, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged may appeal to the ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation at the address below.
