Consultation with and feedback from Career Services, career practice professional organisations and associations including Career Practitioners Association of New Zealand (CAPNZ) and Careers and Transition Educators Association (Aotearoa LTD) (CATE); career practice professionals, tertiary institutions, organisations with consent to assess and workplace assessors were incorporated into the review process. The review identified that the existing qualifications were no longer fit for purpose and id not meet the needs of industry. Subsequently three new qualifications have been developed. Submissions from industry were taken into account during the review process and other stakeholders were contacted to review drafts of the new qualifications.
The structure of the new qualifications took into account changes made to the unit standards that were re-registered in 2009 resulting from a fit for purpose review.
Main changes resulting from the review
· The three reviewed qualifications have been designated D category and will expire without being replaced.
· Three new qualifications have been developed.
