The Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

 

These unit standards are included in the National Certificate in Forest Health Surveillance (Level 5) [Ref: 0909] and were reviewed as part of the planned review of the content of the qualification.  The other unit standards from the Forest Health Surveillance domain that are included in this qualification were either not due for review or will be removed from this qualification when it is reviewed in 2010.

 

These unit standards were reviewed by industry experts, and the Biosecurity Sector Operating Committee then approved the new versions of the unit standards.

 

Main changes

 

·      The levels of unit standards 5695, 5696, and 5697 were reduced from level 6 to level 5.

·      The credit value of unit standard 22894 was reduced from 15 credits to 10.

·      The titles of unit standards 5695-5697, and 5870 were updated.

·      The text of the unit standards was updated to reflect industry practice.
