Revision of NZ Hairdressing Industry Training Organisation Inc AMAP

The NZ Hairdressing Industry Training Organisation Inc has revised the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) above.

Date new version published                                                             September 2010

The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2013.

Reason for the revision

Feedback from industry highlighted that there was confusion regarding the interpretation of seven years of industry practice required within Criterion 3 of the industry or sector-specific requirements for accreditation.

The industry requirement has been reworded to clarify that staff engaging in the delivery of training and/or assessment against standards within the scope of the application have suitable industry technical and commercial skills.  These skills would be gained through seven years of practice in the industry, of which one year must be the 12 months immediately preceding selection and appointment.

Compliance with new requirements

Accreditation requirements will apply with effect from October 2010.

Accredited organisations will be expected to be able to demonstrate compliance with AMAP requirements from October 2010 onwards.

Main changes resulting from the revision

Changes in unit standard terminology have been updated as required throughout the AMAP.
