Competenz has completed the revision and rollover of the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions published                                                          September 2010

Planned review date                                                                           December 2014

Summary

These standards were revised in preparation for inclusion in a Welding qualification planned for development.

Since registration of version 1 of these standards, Competenz has developed extensive resource materials, which are scheduled to be reviewed in 2011 and 2012.  As there has been insufficient experience with these standards, and no indications for urgent changes have come to light, it has been decided to delay their review until after review of the resource materials.  This will also permit alignment of the planned review date with all other standards in this domain.

The opportunity was taken to carry out some minor improvements.

Main changes

·      Definitions and acronyms were updated to align with other standards in the domain.

·      The Code of Practice reference in the explanatory notes was updated.

·      A range statement was added to evidence requirement 4.4 of standard 21907 to include 'gas cylinder'.  This corrects an omission in version 1.

·      Evidence requirement 2.3 of standard 22907 was added to cover requirements for welding consumables.  This also corrects an omission in version 1.

The unit standards covered by this report have been published in the new format.
