Revision of Civil Construction Works qualification

National Certificate in Civil Construction Works (Infrastructure Pipelaying) with an optional strand in Gas Distribution Pipelaying [Ref: 1282]

InfraTrain New Zealand has revised the qualification listed above.

Date new version published                                                             September 2010

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.

Reason for the revision

A review of unit standards in the Gas Network Construction domain impacted on this qualification.  Two unit standards that relate to jointing polyethylene pipe were reviewed to cover all of the industries that use polyethylene pipe.  At review, the unit standards' classification was updated and a recommended for entry unit standard was added to both of these unit standards.

The qualification was updated to include the current versions of these unit standards and to allow people to use the recommended for entry standard to meet the qualification requirements.

Main changes resulting from the revision

Unit standards 10980 and 10987 were updated and their recommended for entry unit standard 25610 was added to Core Elective 2.

The classification in the title of the qualification was changed because the Civil Construction Works domain was designated expiring in July 2010.  The qualification was registered in the Infrastructure Works subfield.
