Revision of Airport Operations qualification
National Diploma in Airport Operations (Level 5) [Ref: 0514]
The Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new versions published September 2010
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.
Reason for the revision
The qualification was revised to replace the expiring Management subfield listed in the elective section and the credit exemptions for the New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) to ensure currency until a review can take place.
Main changes resulting from the revision

Changes to structure and content
· The lapsing Management subfield in Elective 3 was replaced by the Business field.
· Credit transfer from NZDipBus 530 paper was included for the purposes of Elective 3.
· Credit transfer from 200 level NZDipBus papers for Elective 3 was updated to reflect that the papers expired on 31 December 2008.
Transition
People currently working towards version 2 of this qualification may either complete the requirements for that version or transfer their results to version 3 of the qualification.
NZDipBus Transition Arrangements
Candidates may claim credit exemptions against fields, subfields, and domains listed in Elective 3 of this qualification on the basis of an A, B, or C grade pass in a maximum of two New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) papers as specified in the table below. Candidates claiming credit exemptions on the basis of a pass in NZDipBus paper 530 may only claim for one of the papers specified below.
The exemption will only apply for the purposes of award of this qualification and will not appear on the Record of Achievement. The exemption must be applied for on the application form in the appendix and should be reported as part of the normal reporting of results. The current NZQA credit fees will apply. The fee must also be paid before the application is processed.

Credit Transfer Arrangements
