Summary

 

The process for examining deer prior to slaughter has changed in meat processing plants.  For this reason changes were made to the unit standard to bring it up to date.  The unit standard was amended and endorsed by the Meat Processing Advisory Group, made up of industry and provider representatives, in January 2011.

·      Explanatory notes were amended and references included.

·      Outcomes, evidence requirements and ranges were amended to reflect current practices.
