Republication of Wastewater Treatment qualification
The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has revised versions 1 and 2 of the qualification listed above. Versions 1 and 2 are superseded versions of the qualification that have a last date for assessment of 31 December 2012.
Date version republished April 2011
Reason for the Republication
Version 3 of the qualification was issued in February 2009. At that time, it was envisaged that existing candidates would be able to complete their programmes and be awarded the version of the qualification in which they were enrolled. However, the expiry of unit standard 17497 has created issues for some candidates.
The qualification has therefore been amended to enable a cohort of candidates to complete the requirements of versions 1 or 2 of the qualification. Versions 1 and 2 included standard 17497, which expired in December 2009 and whose replacement, standard 21335, was not included in version 3. The outcome of standard 21335 is acceptable to Agriculture Industry Training Organisation as an alternative for standard 17497.
A credit exemption table was added, allowing for an exemption from expired standard 17497 in versions 1 and 2 of the qualification.
Changes to structure and content
· Credit exemption table included for expired standard 17497.
This transition has been included to ensure that all candidates currently enrolled in versions 1 and 2 of the qualification are able to complete the requirements of that version if they wish to. Candidates must complete standard 21335 by 31 December 2012 or transfer to version 3 of the qualification.
The last date to meet the requirements of versions 1 and 2 of the qualification is 31 December 2012.
Versions 1 and 2 of the qualification contain an expired standard that has been replaced. For the purposes of these versions of the qualification, people who have gained credit for the replacement standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replaced standard - see table below.
No candidate will be disadvantaged by the changes made to the qualification.
