Summary

On 9 December 2010 the Flight Training Sector Working Group (comprising representatives of flight training providers for both fixed-wing and helicopters) met to discuss the content of the proposed New Zealand Diploma in Aviation.  As they considered the unit standards that the diploma will contain, the group determined that the levels of some standards did not provide a best match for the skills and knowledge being recognised.  The working group also advised that the credits for some standards did not reflect the time it was expected to take candidates to meet the outcomes and assemble performance evidence.

Main changes

The standards were revised to provide a best match between the level descriptors and the outcomes and evidence requirements, and to ensure that credits reflected notional learning time.
