Date new versions published February 2011
Planned review date December 2016
Summary
A group of experts in airport management and operation, including representatives of provincial domestic and international airports, the Royal New Zealand Air Force and the Civil Aviation Authority, with expertise in support, management, safety/health and training roles, was consulted and examined the standards for fitness for purpose. The standards were modified to suit the purposes of current airport practice and to clarify the evidence requirements. Final drafts were endorsed by the group of experts.
Main changes
· Standards were amended to reflect current practice.
· Explanatory notes were changed to reflect current legal requirements and to clarify assessment requirements.
· The level and credits of standard 13415 were changed to better reflect the time required for learning and assessment and the complexity and responsibility of the skills involved in completing the requirements.
· The requirement to provide evidence for both contracted and self-administered air traffic services to achieve standard 13418 was removed as it was seen as an obstacle to achievement. The title was amended to reflect the changes to the standard.
· The level of standard 13420 was increased to better reflect the complexity and responsibility of the skills required to achieve the standard.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of these standards is 31 December 2014. Results will not be accepted where the assessment date is after the last date for assessment of the standard.
