The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) has completed the revision and review of the unit standards listed above. Unit standard 11578 has been rolled over to extend the planned review date to match the revised standards.

Summary
Unit standards 11578, 26019 and 26020 were revised to align with course components developed by the New Zealand Board of Engineering Diplomas (NZBED). These contain learning outcomes that are equivalent to the outcomes of the unit standards. Anyone completing an NZBED course component related to any of the standards can then apply to ESITO for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Unit standard 11577 was reviewed to ensure it remained relevant to industry practice and was updated to include renewable and sustainable energy, and conservation technologies.
Main changes
· An explanatory note was added to unit standards 11577, 11578, 26019 and 26020 advising that people who had achieved the relevant NZBED course component related to the standard can then apply to ESITO for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
· Unit standard 11577 was updated to include renewable and sustainable energy, and conservation technologies.
