Revision of Civil Construction Works qualification

National Certificate in Civil Construction Works with strands in Concrete Kerb and Channel; Concrete Work; Culverts and Drainage Systems; Interlocking Paving; Retaining Structures; Road Construction; Road Maintenance; Road Safety Barrier; Roadside Amenities; and Traffic Signage [Ref: 1326]

InfraTrain New Zealand has revised the qualification listed above.

Date new version published                                                             July 2011

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.

Reason for the revision

Feedback from industry experts indicated that candidates enrolled on the Road Construction Strand of the qualification were unable to achieve the strand as standard 12569 was a barrier to completion.

InfraTrain New Zealand consulted with the appropriate sectors and determined that removing standard 12569 from the Road Construction Strand would address industry concerns.

The qualification was revised to remove standard 12569 and add an alternative standard.  In addition, the qualification was updated to take account of the results of unit standard reviews.

Main changes resulting from the revision

National Certificate in Civil Construction Works with strands in Concrete Kerb and Channel; Concrete Work; Culverts and Drainage Systems; Interlocking Paving; Retaining Structures; Road Construction; Road Maintenance; Road Safety Barrier; Roadside Amenities; and Traffic Signage [Ref: 1326]
