Revision of Carpet and Textile Cleaning qualification
The Building Service Contractors Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new versions published July 2011
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.
Reason for the revision
During a review of the standards by the Industry Advisory Group for Carpet Cleaning and Restoration the group wrote a new standard 25918 (Follow safe work practices in the carpet cleaning and restoration industry) as a prerequisite for the carpet and textile cleaning units. The revision also ensures that the qualification remains achievable following the review of standards in the Core Health domain.

· Standard 25918 has been substituted for standard 7442.
· Core Health standards 6400, 6401 and 6402 have been replaced by First Aid standards 26551 and 26552.
· The titles of standards 1577, 13349 and 20669 have been updated to match changes made at review.
· The total credit value of the qualification has decreased by three credits.
· The name of the optional strand in Restoring Water Damaged Carpet has been changed to Restoring Water Affected Carpet to reflect terminology changes in standard 13349.
