Revision of Electrical Equipment qualification
National Certificate in Electrical Equipment (Level 2) [Ref: 1298]
The Electro Technology Industry training Organisation (ETITO) has revised the qualification above.
Date new versions published June 2011
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2012.
Reason for the revision
Version 2 was issued following a revision of the qualification to maintain currency. The revision ensures that the qualification remains achievable following the reviews of standards in the Core Health and Stock Control domains.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Changes have been made to include replacement standards and update the review date. Replacement of standard 11970 with standard 24997 has increased the total credit value of the qualification from 43 to 45. The review date for this qualification has changed from 2011 to 2012.
Changes to structure and content
· expiring standards 6401 & 6402 were replaced by standards 26551 & 26552
· expiring standard 11970 was replaced by standard 24997
· total credit value increased from 43 to 45
· titles of standards 57, 376 and 12349 have been updated.
Transition
Candidates may either complete the requirements for version 1 of the qualification or transfer to version 2.
All new candidates will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 2 of the qualification. The last date for assessment of version 1 is December 2011.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.

It is not intended that anyone is disadvantaged by this revision and the above arrangements have been designed for a smooth transition. ETITO is only aware of ten existing candidates and it is envisaged that they will complete within the specified timeframe. However, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged may appeal to ETITO at the address below.
