National Qualifications Services has completed the reinstatement of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

 

In September 2010, National Qualifications Services (NQS) received a request from a provider for the reinstatement of unit standard 18753 and 18755 that were designated expiring in October 2008.

 

In response to this request NQS reviewed the original decision to expire these unit standards as part of the wider review of Computing unit standards completed in 2009. Since that decision, usage of these standards has increased within both the Secondary and Tertiary sectors.  Subsequently, NQS believes there is justification in reinstating these standards.  These standards will be reviewed in 2012.

 

NQS wrote to providers currently reporting results along with the National Association of Computing and Digital Information Technology Teachers (NZCADITT) to seek endorsement for the reinstatement.  NQS received a positive response to the request from providers and the national association.

 

Main changes

 

·      These standards have been reinstated and have a planned review date of 31 December 2012.

·      There have been no changes to classifications, titles, levels, or credits.
