NZQA National Qualifications Services has completed the revision of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

 

In 2009 and 2010 unit standards in the Science subfield were comprehensively reviewed.  However, feedback from the sector indicated that the standards required further changes to enable these to be fit for purpose and technically correct.

 

Main changes

 

·      26114 and 26115 had range statements removed for Outcome 2 which related to Laboratory procedures.

·      26114 Explanatory Note 4 was reworded so that candidates are required to show competence in the growth of one type of animal tissue culture.

·      26344 was changed to reflect how Laboratory Management Systems are used in a laboratory context.  Outcomes and evidence requirements were changed to meet the requirements of the sector.

 

There are no changes to classification, title, level, and credits.
