Revision of Manufacturing qualification

 

National Certificate in Manufacturing (Core Skills) (Level 2) [Ref: 1581]

 

Competenz has revised the qualification above.

 

Date new version published                                                             March 2011

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2015.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The revision was prompted by an industry request for the Food and Related Products Processing and Pharmaceutical and Allied Products subfields to be added to Elective A.  Also, optional standard 8489 and the Core Health domain had been reviewed and designated expiring.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

The qualification was revised to include the Food and Related Products Processing and Pharmaceutical and Allied Products subfields and replace the expiring Core Health domain and standard 8489.

Changes to structure and content

·         The Food and Related Product Processing and Pharmaceutical and Allied Products subfields where added to Elective A

·         The expiring Core Health domain was replaced by the First Aid domain

·         Expiring standard 8489 was replaced by 26623 in the Optional standards section.

 

Transition

 

Candidates enrolled on programmes leading to version 1 may transfer to version 2 if they wish.  The last date for assessment to take place for version 1 is December 2013.

 

This qualification contains a classification that replaced an earlier classification.  For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for standards in the expiring classification are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for standards in the new classification.  See table below.
