Summary

 

Standard 18509 was revised in order to update legislation and the AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk management - Principles and guidelines.  Learning State Limited has consulted with stakeholders to ensure the standard is fit for purpose and meets the risk management standards of practice, resulting in some minor changes to content.

 

As a result of the consultation, standard setting responsibility for standard 18509 has been transferred from Learning State Limited to NZQA National Qualifications Services.  The standard will now be reclassified from Public Sector Services > Public Sector Management to Business Operations and Development > Organisational Direction and Strategy.

 

Main changes

 

·      Standard 18509 was reclassified from Public Sector Services > Public Sector Management to Business Operations and Development > Organisational Direction and Strategy.

·      Legislation, principles and guidelines have been updated for currency.

·      Standard 18509 was made into a generic risk management unit standard with the reference to the public sector replaced by organisation.

·      The title was changed to remove the reference to public sector.

·      Minor changes were made to outcome statements, evidence requirements and range statements.

Standard setting responsibility for standard 18509 has been transferred from Learning State Limited to NZQA National Qualifications Services and therefore the standard has been moved from AMAP 0121 to AMAP 0113.
