Summary
On 10 March 2011, the Minister for Tertiary Education approved an application from Competenz to update its gazetted coverage statement to remove the reference to architectural aluminium. This change was requested because Competenz had agreed to transfer responsibility for the unit standards in the Architectural Aluminium Joinery domain to the JITO because they are more appropriate to the JITO's area of standard setting responsibility.
This change of responsibility was supported by the Windows Association of New Zealand which represents a significant part of the Architectural Aluminium Window Joinery industry.
