Revision of NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Incorporated) CMR

 

The NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Incorporated) has revised the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR) above.

 

Date new version published                                                             May 2011

 

The next CMR review is planned to take place during 2012.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The CMR has been revised to:

·         ensure that new training programmes developed by organisations with consent to assess more accurately reflect the needs of industry and other stakeholders

·         clarify requirements for staff teaching and/or assessing against unit standards at Level 4 or above.

 

Compliance with new requirements

 

Requirements for consent to assess will apply with effect from May 2011.

 

Organisations with consent to assess will be expected to be able to demonstrate compliance with CMR requirements from September 2011 onwards.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Requirements for Consent to Assess (RCA)

 

Industry or sector-specific requirements for consent to assess.

·         Criterion 1 - requirements added that organisations developing new training programmes are able to provide evidence of the need and demand for the programme and the programme's fitness for purpose in relation to embedded literacy and numeracy requirements, learner profile, and industry feedback

·         Criterion 3 - requirement for staff teaching and/or assessing unit standards at Level 4 or above amended to take account of people with relevant industry experience.
