Summary

The review was undertaken as part of the Industry Training Organisation's (ITO's) planned review programme.

The review of these standards was based on comments received from industry as a result of a consultation and feedback process. Review teams, comprising industry representatives and the ITO's Industry Technical Advisory Group, considered the comments and endorsed the changes that were made.

Main changes

· Titles, outcomes, evidence requirements, range statements, and explanatory notes were updated to reflect the present needs of the fire and rescue services industry.

· Standards 14559, 16939, 16940, 16941, and 16942 were identified as no longer required by industry, and have been designated expiring and will not be replaced.

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2013
