National Qualifications Services of NZQA has extended the expiry date of the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions reinstated and published October 2011

Summary

In 2008 the Ministry of Education (MoE) and NZQA initiated a review to ensure that curriculum based standards were aligned to the New Zealand Curriculum, address issues of duplication, credit parity, consistency, fairness and coherence for all standards on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF). As a result these standards were set to expire December 2011.

Since the implementation of the newly aligned achievement standards, feedback from schools, the PPTA, and other clients indicated concerns regarding the time required to develop science courses and resources for candidates previously assessed against these standards. NZQA National Qualifications Services has therefore extended the expiry date of the unit standards to December 2012.
