Summary

On 24 August 2011 the Funeral Services Training Trust (FSTT) met to review the Funeral Services unit standards.  The group consisted of industry practitioners, the provider's representative and Māori representation.  Prior to the meeting the unit standards were circulated to the wider industry and comment on any changes sought.  These were compiled and presented to the meeting for discussion.  Minor changes were suggested to the unit standards and agreement was gained to link the unit standards to a new Code of Ethics developed by FSTT.  The unit standards were amended and circulated for endorsement by the industry in December.

Main changes

·      Titles of unit standards 8342, 8347, 8350, and 8356 were amended.

·      Credits on four unit standards were increased to reflect time spent on learning and assessment.

·      Explanatory notes were updated to include the new Industry Code of Ethics.

The Category D unit standard will expire at the end of December 2013
