Revision of Allied Health Assistance unit standards

Careerforce, the Community Support Services ITO Limited, has completed the revision of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

 

The unit standards listed above were registered in June 2011.  In preparing resources for users of the standard, some references were found to be inappropriate, some definitions needed to be amended and an ambiguity was noted.  One reference contained classifications that were outside the scope of intended learners and two other references were not recognised as being authoritative. One definition gave incorrect guidance and another referred to modalities that are excluded from the scope of intended learners. The ambiguity meant that there was potential for inconsistent assessment.

 

In order to address the issues, three references were removed, two definitions were modified and one evidence requirement was amended.

 

Main changes

 

·      Some references were removed from unit standards 27463 and 27466

·      A minor amendment was made to a reference in unit standard 27465 and 27466

·      Some definitions were amended in unit standards 27465 and 27466

·      The range statement for evidence requirement 3.1 was amended in unit standard 27463.

 

No candidates are currently waiting to be assessed against these standards.  Therefore, the last date for assessment of the superseded versions of these unit standards (version 1) is 31 December 2012.  Results will not be accepted where the assessment date is after the last date for assessment of the superseded version of the unit standard.
