NZQA National Qualifications Services (NQS) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published November 2012
Planned review date December 2016
Summary
NQS has completed a review of the unit standards as a result of feedback indicating changes were needed to ensure the standards met industry requirements, were clear, logical and fit for purpose. The review corrected inconsistencies, clarified ranges, and corrected technical aspects of these standards.
Main changes
· The addition of recommended knowledge and skills for entry to standard 25778.
· A barrier to assessment was identified in standard 25778 and an explanatory note has been modified to allow assessment in a real life context using naturally occurring evidence or in simulated conditions that demand performance equivalent to that required in a real life context.
· The titles of standards 18509 and 25778 were amended to better reflect their content.
· The purpose statements were modified to reflect the rewording of the outcomes.
· Evidence requirements and range statements were amended for clarity and consistency with the updated outcomes.
· Explanatory notes were updated to include current legislation, guidelines, industry codes of practice; to clarify terms; and to better reflect linkages to the AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk management - Principles and guidelines standard, and other related references.
The last date for assessment of the superseded version of the standards is 31 December 2014.
