The Communications and Media Industry Training Organisation (CMITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published October 2012
Planned review date December 2015
These unit standards were reviewed following feedback from industry that they no longer met the industry requirements for digital printing due to changes in technology and workplace practices. It was agreed that three unit standards would expire and replacement unit standards would be developed to meet these requirements. One unit standard was designated expiring and would not be replaced.
The review group comprised representatives from a range of printing companies, copy shops, digital printing suppliers and organisations involved, and or interested, in digital printing.
Main changes
· Unit standard 17923 was replaced with unit standard 27883.
· Unit standard 17924 is no longer required and will expire without replacement.
· Unit standard 17926 was replaced with unit standard 27884.
· Unit standard 23558 was replaced with unit standard 27881.
· The three replacement unit standards were registered in the Digital Processes for Print domain.
· Printing - Graphic Communication domain will lapse when unit standard 17924 expires.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2014.
