NZQA National Qualifications Services has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published September 2012
Planned review date December 2016
Summary
When these standards were developed in 2010 the intention was to for them to be able to be achieved with merit, and excellence grades in the future. The purpose of this review was to ascribe achieved, merit, and excellence grades to the standards.
The development panel from the 2010 review was reconvened to undertake this task. When the standards and accompanying assessment support material were completed, the schools using the standards and NZQA’s Pasifika networks were consulted for endorsement.
Main changes
· The standards have three available grades: Achieved, Merit, and Excellence.
· Titles, purpose statements, explanatory notes, outcomes, evidence requirements, and range statements have, where applicable, been reworded to clarify and simplify.
· In each standard the outcome statements have reduced from three to one except at level three where there are two. All the requirements of the previous version of each unit standard have been incorporated through explanatory notes or range statements.
