Summary
These unit standards were reviewed as part of the re-development of the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Level 2) with optional strands in Electrical, Electrical Fitter, and Line Mechanic [Ref: 1293] qualification under the Electricity Supply sector mandatory review of qualifications. A new compulsory unit standard has also been developed for this qualification to meet the trainee certificate issuing requirements by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).
As part of the mandatory review, industry has participated in the review, and the changes made were a result of the feedback received. A notification of the standards being reviewed was also posted on the ESITO website.
Main changes
· Explanatory notes were updated to include current legislation, terminology, guidelines, industry codes of practise, and clarification of terms.
· Outcomes, evidence requirements and range statements were updated.
· New unit standard 28020 was developed to meet the trainee certificate issuing requirements.
