Summary
A change to the law governing child restraint use in vehicles has required a need for the above unit standards to be reviewed to bring them up to date with the new legislation requirements. The unit standards have been amended and endorsed by the technical advisory group in October 2013.
Main changes
· Titles were amended to reflect the change in legal requirements.
· Levels of both standards were increased.
· Credits for 26556 were increased from 4 to 5.
· Credits for 26557 were decreased from 6 to 5.
· Explanatory notes were amended to reflect legislation changes.
· Outcomes, evidence requirements, and range statements were amended.
