Revision of Distribution qualifications
National Certificate in Distribution (Level 2) [Ref: 0990]
National Certificate in Distribution (Level 3) [Ref: 0991]
ServiceIQ has revised the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published March 2013
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.
Reason for the revision
The qualifications were revised after changes to many of the standards (particularly to levels and credits) and expected expiry of other standards, to ensure the interim viability and achievability of the qualifications, The appropriateness and relevancy of the qualifications as a whole will be reviewed under the Targeted Review of Qualifications in the near future.
Main changes resulting from the revision
The qualifications were revised in order to take account of changes to levels, credits and titles as well as the expiry of unit standards, which disadvantaged some learners.
National Certificate in Distribution (Level 2) [Ref: 0990]
Changes to structure and content
· Levels for unit standards 11971, 1304, and 17459 were updated.
· Credit values for unit standards 62, 3501, 3483, 3490, and 17459 were updated.
· Unit standards 26551, 26552 and 26623 were added to the Elective.
· Unit standards 6400, 6401, 6401, 8489, and 8490 were removed from the Elective.
· Credit value for the Compulsory was increased by 1 credit and the Elective was reduced by 1 credit.
· Minimum credit requirement in Elective at Level 2 decreased from 31 to 27 credits.
· Unit standard titles were updated to the latest versions.
National Certificate in Distribution (Level 3) [Ref: 0991]
Changes to structure and content
· Credit values for unit standards 19580 and 334 were updated.
· Unit standards 26551, 26552 and 27229 were added to the Elective.
· Unit standards 6400 and 11939 were removed from the Elective.
· Classification change for unit standard 11961.
Transition
People currently working towards version 2 of these qualifications may complete the requirements for that version or transfer to version 3. The last day for assessments to take place for version 2 is 31 December 2015. All new trainees will be enrolled in programmes leading to the new version of the qualifications.
Ref: 0990 contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purpose of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard - see table below.
