The Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) has reinstated the unit standard above.

Summary

 

FITEC reviewed and designated unit standard 17963 expiring in April 2011.  Consultation with industry on the review of FITEC qualifications led to the reinstatement of this unit standard.  Industry advised the standard should not have been expired.  The outcomes remain relevant and fit for purpose for candidates in introductory operational roles within the industry.  The standard will be reviewed in December 2015.

 

Main changes

 

·      The standard has been reinstated, and has a planned review date of December 2015.

·      Explanatory notes were updated for consistency with other Wood Product Manufacturing Skills standards.

·      Evidence requirements and ranges were amended to clarify meaning, and to ensure accuracy of legislation.

·      There have been no changes to classification, title, level, or credits.
