Skills Active Aotearoa Limited has reinstated the qualification listed above. The qualification is expiring and has been assigned a new expiry date.

Summary
This qualification was reviewed and designated expiring in October 2010 with an expiry date of 31 December 2012; and replaced by the National Certificate in Outdoor Recreation (Leadership) with strands in Abseiling, Bush-Walking, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, and Sea Kayaking [Ref: 1594]. It was expected that the Targeted Review of Qualifications process would be completed by this time, new qualifications would have been developed, and all providers would move to the replacement qualifications. In the interim, Skills Active Aotearoa has responded to a training provider who sought a change to the expiry date to ensure existing candidates could complete the qualification. It was therefore necessary to extend the expiry date until a new qualification is developed.
Main changes
The qualification was reinstated as expiring and will expire at the end of December 2014. Reverse transition has been included to allow candidates to complete the qualification using the replacement standard for expired standard 20142.

For the purposes of this qualification people who have credit for the replacement standard are exempt from gaining credit for the expired standard.
