Planned review date                                                                           December 2017

Summary

In 2008 National Qualifications Services (NQS) reviewed registered unit standards in the domains above and developed some new standards.  Since that date there has been no usage of these standards, with the exception of small usage of two standards by one provider in 2006 and 2009.  In addition the mandatory review of qualifications in the Early Childhood Education sector, which will have unknown flow on effects on the standards, isn't scheduled until 2014.  It was, therefore, decided that the standards should be rolled over and reviewed in 2017.

Education organisations with consent to assess were consulted on this approach and endorsed it.

Main changes

·      Details of reference documents have been updated.

·      Last date for assessment of earlier versions has been stated.

·      Small changes have been made for assessability and clarity of evidence requirements.
