NZQA National Qualifications Services (NQS) has completed the revision and rollover of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published September 2013
Planned review date December 2016
Summary
The mandatory review of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) qualifications, which includes computing qualifications, is currently underway, and the computing unit standards above are due for review in 2013. The flow-on effects of the mandatory review on these standards is unknown, so they have been revised and rolled over to extend their period of listing on the DAS. Once the current review of ICT qualifications has been completed, the computing unit standards will be progressively reviewed in light of the new qualifications.
Changes have been made only where necessary to ensure the standard is current (e.g. with legislation and new format) and where there have been issues with clarity or intent.
Main changes
· Where required, the unit standards have been changed into the current format.
· Purpose statements of standards 2788, 6761, 6836, 6873, 25660, 25658, 26227, 26229 and 26230 were updated to better reflect their outcomes.
· A last date for assessment has been added to the previous versions of each unit standard. This is 31 December 2015 for the last version and 31 December 2013 for all earlier versions.
· Explanatory notes were clarified from feedback received, to better reflect intent and to update relevant guidelines or legislation.
· Standards 2780, 2785, 2790, 6743, 6871, 6873, 18756, 20332, 25659 and 26227 were revised to clarify range and/or evidence requirements.
There are no impacts on existing organisations with consent to assess, on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR), or on registered qualifications.
