Summary

These unit standards relate to the Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ), the "Prescribed Qualification" which is required to demonstrate that those applying for or renewing their General Manager's Certificate have received "Recent and Relevant Training".  They required updating to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose when the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 replaces the existing Sale of Liquor Act 1989.  The unit standards were reviewed with the active support of the industry, which included the Ministry of Justice, and their agreement was given to the new versions.
