Skills Active Aotearoa has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions published                                                          November 2014

Planned review date                                                                           December 2019

Summary

The review of these unit standards was initiated through their planned review and the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ) for Recreational Dive triggered in 2012.

The unit standards have been reviewed to ensure that they are fit for purpose, relevant to the Dive industry and contain no barriers to assessment.  Dive industry representatives were involved in the comprehensive review and writing of these unit standards and have provided feedback on the versions that were reviewed.

Main changes

·         Comprehensive changes were made to all unit standards.  As a result, replacement standards have been developed.

·         Unit standards 22896, 8284, 8287, 8289, 4394, 4397 and 4399 were designated expiring due to lack of use.

·         Explanatory notes were updated to update definitions, legislation, and clarified assessment requirements.

·         The critical health and safety prerequisites were amended.

Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2016
