Revision of Composites and Marina Operations and Services qualifications

 

National Certificate in Composites (Level 3) [Ref: 1157]

National Certificate in Composites (Level 4) [Ref: 0121]

National Certificate in Marina Operations and Services (Level 3) with strands in Administration, Operations [Ref: 1680]

 

The New Zealand Marine and Composites Industry Training Organisation (NZMACITO) has completed the revision of the qualifications listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          August 2015

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place before December 2015.

 

Reason for the revision

 

NZMACITO has revised the qualifications to remove barriers posed by the inclusion of some unit standards so that learners are able to achieve the qualifications in the interim period prior to the listing of the replacement New Zealand qualifications due later in 2015. 

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

National Certificate in Composites (Level 3) [Ref: 1157]

 

Changes to structure and content

·      The credit total of the qualification decreased from 97 to 94.

·      Standards 6401, 6402, and 3271 were removed from the compulsory section.

 

National Certificate in Composites (Level 4) [Ref: 0121]

 

·                Total credits decreased from 185 to 183 credits

·                Standard 6400 was removed from the compulsory section.

 

National Certificate in Marina Operations and Services (Level 3) with strands in Administration, Operations [Ref: 1680]

 

Changes to structure and content

·      The credit total of the qualification decreased from 124 to 103.

·      Standards 3271, 4573, 4647, 26551, 26552, and 26541 were removed from the core compulsory section.

 

Transition

 

People working towards previous versions of these qualifications may either complete the requirements of the version by 31 December 2016 or transfer their results to the new versions.  Programmes leading to the award of these new versions of the qualifications can start when the new versions are registered.  All new candidates will be enrolled onto programmes leading to the award of the new versions.

 

It is not intended that anyone is disadvantaged by this revision.  However, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged may appeal to the NZMACITO at the address below.
